Research Papers on Strain HY7017

[SCIE] A Study on the Immune Function Enhancement Effects of L. paracasei  HY7017

Probiotics are not only beneficial for gut health but may also help activate the immune system and boost defense against external pathogens.

In this study, 80 adults suspected of having compromised immune systems were administered L. paracasei  HY7017 for 8 weeks to evaluate changes in immune markers. (Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial)

The results demonstrated the following functional properties of HY7017:

  • Significant increase in NK cell activity
  • Elevated levels of the immunomodulatory substance interferon gamma (IFN-γ) (at 4 and 8 weeks)
  • Increased levels of interleukin-12 (IL-12), which helps activate immune cells
  • Strengthened innate immune response to external pathogens
  • No clinically specific adverse effects observed during the intake period

In adults suspected of having compromised immune systems, daily intake (5.0x109 CFU) for 8 weeks resulted in the activation of NK cells, the body's first line of defense, and increased key immune substances, thereby significantly strengthening the body's defense capabilities.

[SCIE] A Study on the Immunomodulation Effects of L. paracasei  HY7017 and Its Synergistic Activity with Red Ginseng

Probiotics are not only beneficial for gut health but may also help activate immune cells and strengthen the body’s defense system.

This study examined L. paracasei  HY7017, which is capable of overcoming the antimicrobial activity of red ginseng and using it as a nutrient source to proliferate, in combination with red ginseng components to evaluate immune-enhancing effects in cell and animal models.

The results demonstrated the following functional properties of HY7017:

  • Activation of immune cells (macrophages): Increased production of immune signaling molecules nitric oxide (NO) and cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6) (cell study)
  • Promotion of immune response in splenocytes: Induced the secretion of IL-12 and IFN-γ, key indicators of immunomodulation (cell study)
  • Recovery of white blood cell (WBC) count: Restored WBC levels to normal in immunosuppressed mouse models (animal study)
  • Enhancement of natural killer (NK) cell activity: Increased the cytotoxic activity of NK cells against external pathogens (animal study)
  • Excellent intestinal colonization and stability: Demonstrated high viability in the gastrointestinal tract and excellent adhesion to intestinal epithelial cells (Caco-2)

When administered to an immunosuppressed mouse models, HY7017 cultured with red ginseng normalized white blood cell counts and improved immune cell activity, resulting in a significant overall improvement in immune function.

Lactobacillus paracasei HY7017 strain with enhanced characteristics and improved immune function using red ginseng as a nutrient source and the uses thereof

When cultured using red ginseng as a nutrient source, the strain shows improved acid resistance, bile resistance, and intestinal adhesion. In addition, it improves immune function by activating NK cells and increasing the production of nitric oxide (NO) and immune-related cytokines (TNF-α, IFN-γ).

Postbiotic composition containing Lactobacillus paracasei HY7017

This technology relates to heat-treated (inactivated) HY7017 postbiotic cultured in a medium containing oats. It is strengthened with avenanthramide, which increases the expression of tight junctions (ZO-1) in intestinal epithelial cells and inhibits apoptosis, thereby improving intestinal health.
