[SCIE] A Study on the Immune Function Enhancement Effects of L. paracasei HY7017
Probiotics are not only beneficial for gut health but may also help activate the immune system and boost defense against external pathogens.
In this study, 80 adults suspected of having compromised immune systems were administered L. paracasei HY7017 for 8 weeks to evaluate changes in immune markers. (Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial)
The results demonstrated the following functional properties of HY7017:
- Significant increase in NK cell activity
- Elevated levels of the immunomodulatory substance interferon gamma (IFN-γ) (at 4 and 8 weeks)
- Increased levels of interleukin-12 (IL-12), which helps activate immune cells
- Strengthened innate immune response to external pathogens
- No clinically specific adverse effects observed during the intake period
In adults suspected of having compromised immune systems, daily intake (5.0x109 CFU) for 8 weeks resulted in the activation of NK cells, the body's first line of defense, and increased key immune substances, thereby significantly strengthening the body's defense capabilities.
